eBay UK to put all wargames scales back into one category
Throughout 2005 and 2006, professional wargames traders such as Lea from War-Painter, myself, and many others whose names I’ve not remembered, lobbied eBay UK to split out the main wargames figures categories by scale. It took some time, and back then eBay UK staff were willing to take advice from their pro and powerseller customers. […]

New for 2012, is a small range of plastic trees with a unique baseless design. The hollow base of the trunk allows use of a “spike” to fix the trees to polystyrene terrain boards without having to use a tree base or similar, and allows them to be moved around and repositioned easily. First types […]
First Look: DAE02 Dark Age & Feudal DBA BUA Hill Fort
Hot from the mould, I’ve finally got around to casting and releasing a model designed over 5 years ago, that had sat languishing in a dark recess of the casting room. Here’s a first look at my DBA~DBM representation of a village perimeter on a bank and ditch hillock with planked palisade.
New Model Previews – GS07 & 08 Frontier Cabins
Two new 15mm AWI-ACW-Frontier Log & Shingle Cabins have been released to production and will be available from the Long Range Logistics Depot before Christmas.
GS07 and GS08 are in our modular building style and the rooves can be exchanged with the S&S17 Village Smithy if you want a tiled roof with half timbered gables, rather than the hipped shape of the default roof supplied with these two models.
Relaunch Johnson’s Klear campaign gains momentum. After performing works at East Preston fire station in East Sussex, workers repainted the road markings advising traffic to “Keep Klear”.
ThaiCon-10 – Thailand Old Gits get together
A remote mountaintop resort in Thailand’s North East saw the first assembly of a scattered group of expatriate wargamers this month. Planned for over a year, the only absentees were one member currently in Italy, and another in the USA. Six of us made it for the inaugural meeting, and top of the agenda was […]
Australian General Staff Wargames Championship 2010 at OZCON
A completely new style of wargames championship will be held at the Australian Historical Wargames Competition to be held next Easter, writes Mal Wright, Event Manager. Apologies for being a little late this week with another preview from the buried treasures unearthed when I recaptured my design bench a month or so back. I’d completely forgotten about this set, which was started something like 5 years ago and had been boxed up amongst models to return to, for about half that […]

Continuing the series of Friday updates regarding ongoing new model designs, this week I’m looking at the progress on the assorted wall sections for the new Hadrian’s / Roman Frontier Wall range. There is a small dilemma with this set of pieces, that I’d like to present to you before I discuss the detail, and […]
Progress Report – New 15mm scale Hadrian’s Wall Turrets
Last week, I previewed the upcoming Porta Secundus Limes / Triarus Civica for the forthcoming Roman Frontier (Hadrian’s Wall) range of 15mm wargames buildings, currently on the design bench. This week, again with copious research notes, I’m looking at the wall turrets which appeared at 500 metre intervals between the mile-forts along the frontier wall, […]
Over on our main handicrafts ecommerce site, we’re building a powerful new newsletter server. It set me thinking about whether or not we need one here at the Long Range Logistics Forward Post and Depot. What’s your thoughts? Would you like us to begin a newsletter service? What would you like us to include in […]
LRL August Sale & Games Room Clear-out
Week 1 – Battlefront Flames of War packs. As is usual, sometime every summer I have a big clear out from all my personal armies, incomplete projects, and the stuff I bought on a whim, then never did anything with. If I didn’t do this, I’d never have space (or money) for my winter buying […]
Here we go again … another month, another move
The best laid plans of mice and men … as they say. Having taken ten years to find the house size and style I really wanted from the outset of living in Thailand, and having moved in and settled nicely in January this year, it’s time to put everything back into boxes and relocate again. […]
