S&S04 15mm Stone-walled / thatch-roofed Scottish Highland's Croft.
Based on Liam Neeson's home in the movie "Rob Roy".
This model represents a typical stone walled, turf roofed, single storey farmhouse of a style commonly seen throughout Scotland dating back to the medieval & feudal periods, and also witnessed in British colonies, both during the Age of Exploration and during the "Height of Empire" period.
* For Jacobite & 20th Century scenarios, it makes an excellent general purpose rural house.
* For Age of Exploration / Pirate scenarios, use it for out-of-town housing & farms.
* For British Colonial theatres, use it as a poor-man's farm bungalow, or harbour-side cottage.
* It will also fit well with AWI & Wolfe in Quebec, plus 20th Century Eastern Front, and more modern central Asian theatres.
It has been designed to remain reasonably generic so that it can be used for a wide range of periods and theatres, and is especially suited to Flames of War 15mm WW2 rules for the Eastern Fronts and North East Mediterranean theatres.

The model has been designed for modellers to use their imagination, and modify to create variety.
Example projects could be -
* Provide the model with a walled base and "garden".
* Add fenced animal yards.
* Create a matching barn or animal shed (see our Flat Roof Block / Stone series for ready made animal sheds).
and many other personalised modifications that would allow more than one of these to appear different to each other, creating variety on the table top.
Painting the model in a grey "stone" finish makes it suitable for mountainous areas and NW Europe (e.g. Scotland).
Painting it in sandy "adobe" finish converts it to sandstone for lowland areas.
These photos show the unbased style of the unpainted model supplied. Xyston 18mm (1:100) hoplite used for scale (not included). |
